Chief Executive Officer, The Casey Family Program
Ruth W. Massinga is chief executive officer of The Casey Family Program, a Seattle-based, private operating foundation that provides long-term foster care to more than 1,500 children in 13 States. She is immediate past chair and board member of the Family Resource Coalition and sits on the boards of the American Humane Association, The Center for Ethical Leadership in Seattle, the Seattle Children's Home, the Seattle-King County Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the board of advisors of the National Center for Children in Poverty at Columbia University. She currently serves on the Urban Institute's Policy Advisory Board on New Federalism. Former president of the American Public Welfare Association (1989 - 90), Massinga was a congressional appointee on the National Commission on Children (1988 - 93). From 1983 until 1989, she served as secretary of the Maryland Department of Human Resources. Ms. Massinga holds a master's degree in social services from Boston University.
