Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary, Monsanto
Bill Ide joined Monsanto in November 1996 as senior vice president, general counsel, and secretary. He was a senior partner with the Atlanta and Washington, D.C. law firm Long Aldridge & Norman before joining Monsanto. He also has served as senior vice president, special counsel, and head of the Public Finance Group of E.F. Hutton & Company, Inc., and managing director, special counsel, and head of the Atlanta office of Prescott, Ball & Turban. Mr. Ide was president of the American Bar Association from 1993 to 1994. He was a founding executive committee and board of directors member of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. He currently serves on the executive committee of the board of directors of the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Ide earned a bachelor's degree in American history from Washington and Lee University. He earned his juris doctor degree from the University of Virginia, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and a member of the board of editors of the Virginia Law Review. He earned his MBA in finance from Georgia State University.
