Randolph Muck, M.Ed.

Randolph Muck, M.Ed., served as Chief, Targeted Populations Branch at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through March 2011. Upon his retirement after 33 years of federal service, he founded Advocates for Youth and Family Behavioral Health Treatment, which focuses on improving treatment services and access and providing continuing care and supportive services for youth and their families. In his position at SAMHSA, Mr. Muck was responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of national programs for the treatment of adolescents and families with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders, including youth in the juvenile justice system. He worked with programs such as Assertive Adolescent for Families and Youth, Effective Adolescent Treatment, Adolescent Treatment Models Study, Adolescent Residential Treatment and Continuing Care, Strengthening Communities for Youth, Effective Adolescent Treatment, and State Adolescent Treatment Coordination.
